Privacy Notice (KVKK)

This notice is provided by Ege Rent A Car Limited Şirketi (the “Company”) as data controller under Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”). It explains why we process your personal data, to whom it may be transferred, how it is collected, the legal grounds, and your rights. The Turkish version of this notice prevails.

2. Personal data we process

• Identity data: name, ID or passport details, date of birth.
• Contact data: phone number, email address, address.
• Driving licence data: licence details and validity.
• Transaction data: booking dates, pick-up and return locations, the car rented, your requests and notes.
• Financial data: information on payments and deposits.
• Vehicle use data: mileage, damage and traffic fine records during the rental.

3. Purposes

• Receiving and answering booking requests, and entering into and performing the rental contract,
• Handing over and receiving the car, and supporting you during the rental,
• Complying with legal obligations (such as rental vehicle notifications, invoicing and accounting records),
• Handling traffic fines, damage and insurance processes,
• Managing your requests and complaints.

4. Collection method and legal grounds

We collect personal data by phone, WhatsApp, email, in person at our office or delivery point, and through the rental contract. The booking form on our website does not store your details on our server; it turns them into a ready-to-send WhatsApp message on your device, and they reach us only when you send that message.

We process personal data on the legal grounds in Article 5 of the KVKK, namely where processing is:

• directly related to entering into or performing a contract,
• necessary to comply with a legal obligation,
• necessary to establish, exercise or protect a right,
• necessary for our legitimate interests, provided your fundamental rights and freedoms are not harmed.

5. Transfers

For the purposes above only, personal data may be shared with authorised public bodies, insurance companies, our legal and financial advisers and business partners we work with. Messages sent via WhatsApp are transmitted through WhatsApp’s infrastructure.

6. Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you may apply to the data controller to:

• learn whether your personal data is processed and request information about it,
• learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly,
• know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred,
• request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data, and erasure or destruction under the conditions of the KVKK, and notification of these actions to third parties,
• object to a result against you arising exclusively from automated analysis,
• claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
