Getting there

Denizli Çardak Airport to Pamukkale by Car

· 5 min read · EGE RENT A CAR

You have landed at Denizli Çardak Airport and Pamukkale is next. Here is how to plan the roughly one-hour drive with a rental car.

Denizli Çardak Airport (IATA code DNZ) is the first stop for many visitors to Pamukkale. The airport lies outside the city, near the town of Çardak, so it pays to plan your onward journey before you land.

Where is the airport and how far is Pamukkale?

Çardak Airport is roughly 60–65 km from Denizli city centre, and Pamukkale is a similar distance by road. Depending on traffic and weather, either drive usually takes about an hour.

The road crosses wide plains before the mountains around Denizli come into view. If your flight lands in the evening, driving into the sunset is a lovely start to the trip.

Your options: shuttle, taxi or rental car

Shuttles timed to flights and taxis serve the airport. But if you are staying several days and want to explore, a rental car has clear advantages:

  • No waiting for a shuttle to fill up or for a taxi.
  • Door to door with your luggage, straight to your hotel.
  • Flexibility: no need to arrange separate transport to Hierapolis, Karahayıt or Laodicea the next day.

Collecting your rental car at the airport

At EGE RENT A CAR we offer 24/7 delivery at Çardak Airport. Simply choose the airport as your pick-up location in the booking form and add your flight number and arrival time in the notes. We prepare the car and check it with you at handover.

You can return the car at the airport or at another location. See Çardak Airport car rental for details.

Which car?

  • One or two people, light luggage: an economy hatchback is plenty.
  • Families with large suitcases: a sedan or SUV with a big boot is more comfortable.
  • Larger groups: an 8+1 van keeps everyone together.

If you would rather not drive after a long flight, our car with driver service can meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.

A quick checklist before you set off

  1. Make sure your phone is charged and your navigation app is ready.
  2. Check the fuel level and any existing damage with us at handover.
  3. Save your hotel’s location in your navigation app beforehand.
  4. At night, pay extra attention to speed limits and roadworks signs.

Arriving in Pamukkale

The travertines and Hierapolis can be reached from different entrances. The north entrance is closer to Karahayıt, the south entrance is on the Denizli side, and you can also walk up to the lower terraces from the village. With your own car, switching between entrances is easy.
